Visiting our injured and traumatized children coming out of Gaza accompanied with a parent or a close relative at Bambino Gesu hospital in Rome to receive medical treatment is heartbreaking. Looking at their faces, it tells you everything. Passing through days of bombardment while seeking shelter from one corner to another to survive shows the ugly face of war. Listening to their horrific stories about the massive destruction and death in Gaza confirms that Humanity has failed . Regardless, it is still our moral responsibility to keep the hope alive in the hearts of our devastated children. And as His Holiness Pope Francis said “the Palestinian Gazans deserve to live in dignity and peace”.
